Very nice, Drew. Quite an impressive site in 1967, must have made you wonder what the future would hold, despite the drop in passenger service.

Yes the Lark; many great memories regarding this train. We would travel up to Burlingame one night per week, have ice cream at Ferrell's, then drive to a crossing where I would be stood upon the hood of the 1955 Bel Air to watch her thunder past. The engineer would always give me a wave and blow. (if any former Lark engineers are still around reading this, it was the 4 door light blue Chevy Bel Air with the blond haired child standing on the hood) I would see white formal jacketed young men on the diner along with women on the parlor car doing their hair and makeup. This was always a great highlight of my week. I got to ride the Lark one time before she was taken off. It always flew for me. I rode many commuters between SJ and "The City". Never had a bad experience.
