Posted by David Geraghty on October 24, 2010  Nice shot Mike. I believe that at the time the photograph was taken (96-97) a reliability issue involving the axle bearings arose where by detergent used in the train wash was breaking down the lubricant in the bearing race, hence the filthy locos.
