Can someone tell me what kind of a locomotive No. 51 is? Looks like some kind of a 'kitbashed'...?

Jeff, 51 looks like a B23-7R - rebuilt by GE to Super 7-23B specifications. Conrail inherited some from the Monongahela Railway although theirs had GM trucks, this one has GE or Alco style trucks.

With the tracks covered in snow, it looks like the trains are just stopping at a 4 way intersection! Great shot with some very interesting power.
