Nice shot. Is it just me or does this train always look underpowered?

It does look underpowered for such a long train, but it probably doesn't require additional units since the terrain of this route is relatively flat the entire way with little or no grade whatsoever.

Imagine if Amtrak had an Auto-Train on the West Coast or even put auto carriers on all their long distance trains so that you could take your car on any Amtrak train, imagine that!

The train doesn't require more locomotives because only two P42s are needed to power the HEP for the 18 Superliners. If you saw two Dash 9s pulling this many cars, it wouldn't seem odd. Also, the Auto Train has two special facilities for loading/unloading the autoracks which could not easily be duplicated at any existing major stations along other long distance routes.
