Wow! I have always had a soft spot in my heart especially when it comes to any, and all switchers... The locomotive squeezing through what looks like claustraphobic surroundings onto the street. It could pass as 1970 something.
also brings back youthful memories of 1970s WP through downtown yuba city ca. Thanks, it really is a Fantastic photo.

Are there any active railroads in Towanda today? Are there any times when traffic is high enough to be worth a 2 and 1/2 trip?

Theres Lehigh Railway that runs the Towanda area. & Sometimes NS runs a train down there.

NS leased the line from Sayre to Mehoopany to the Lehigh Railway. Reading and Northern now owns and operates the Towanda Monroeton & Shippers Lifeline...
