Nice shot Chris.

20 loco's? That has to be the biggest I have ever heard of! I love the way the DRGW relies on GP40s.

Such a shame it's gone (the Rio Grande and Tennessee Pass line). Today's railroading just doesn't seem to have the character it once did, as exemplified by this shot. Thanks for sharing, Chris.

What a sight this train would've been to see ascending Tennessee Pass. I agree, what a shame this line no longer handles traffic, but one day, there will be trains.

I agree with Mike. Character is few and far between these days and not just in railroading. Excellent shot.

Question is...in Leadville, how much of the 55,950 HP was actually being generated? If I'm not mistaken, that's over 10,000 feet up. Are the GP40-2 Turbo-charged, or Turbo-normalized?

20 locomotives, wow. Through the rockies, not around them!

Tennessee Pass is not "gone", it's just inactive, and there is word the UP is looking into reactivating it.
