The PRR used to hire college students for summer work as brakemen. I worked on the 44th St. extra list in Philly during the summer of '66. Anyhow, the PTC Girard Ave. trolley loop was nearby and there was a great little diner there, called "The Loop". Big ham and cheese sandwiches, homemade french apple pie, coffee in big porcelain cups. It was a good way to begin a 16 hr. day on the rails. I'm really enjoying these classic shots from the Pittsburgh area - this one is just so vibrant with the rural traction line, the foliage and the Plymouth. The photos from around the ET works were great, as well. Thanks for sharing them, John.

Although tramways are not really my "thing", I have thoroughly enjoyed both yours and Joe's pictures of this system.
