The BN merger really makes on wonder what would have become of the Milwaukee's Pacific extention if the merger wouldn't have been allowed to occur. Does anyone thing the Miwaukee could have been competitive if they would have survived?

Great shot - can't help but to think of Charlton Heston saying his famous lines from the original Planet of the Apes. The mighty has fallen but left it's footprints. Great location find.

Makes me think of the railfans wish to go back in time and shoot the things we missed

It makes you wish the things you miss most are still around. The Milwaukee Road will be missed forever, but its memory lives on in our heart.

Mike - interesting location you found. Finds like this one are bitter sweet. It's always sad to find relics of what once was, but they are historically interesting to see. To borrow an ancient name from another location, I guess you could call this photo, 'Railroad Stonehenge.'

It's great to learn about fallen flag railroads like Milwaukee. I'm 17 years old, but I would love to see that rail line run. BTW, great photo.

Hey Mike, can you share the account number you used at that ATM with me? Spectacular result! You're welcome for the suggestion that we shoot there -- and of course my shot looking back towards the columns was entirely spoiled by heat waves. Win some, lose some...
