Very nice. The T1's were beauties.

What a fabulous loco.Was it a compound?

The T1 class surely was an unusual looking breed Altoona created. Even though the T1 class was designed to replace the k4 class, it never did accomplish that feat. Even so, I sure wish I could have witnessed a T1 roar by! Thanks for this look back into history.

What an exciting shot.

Allow me to collect my jaw from the floor before replying in full...A T-1 in color is an amazing sight to see. Simply stellar.

Between John Dziobko and Bob Krone, this site has become truly rewarding. What a fantastic photo!

The Pennsylvania T1 locomotive was one of Mr. Raymond Loewy's best designs. It is very unfortunate that none were saved. Thanks for sharing this classic Pennsylvania Railroad image. The only thing that would have made this image better would be the omission of the watermark (in my opinion, the watermark distracts from the beauty of the image).

Note the foglight set into the aftercooler. Quite rare.

CP stands for Central Region and PGH means Pittsburgh Division.
