The colors blend in very well with one another. You will like the M8 cars when they enter revenue service on Metro North.

Most of that train is actually M4/M6 EMUs, not M2s; the only M2 "married pair" is at the center of the train, with two three-car "triplets" (M4/M6) at each end. The M4s/M6s were newer (delivered in the 1980s and 1990s, respectively), and as such didn't go through the rebuild programs that the M2s (delivered in the 1970s) went through. As a result, they wore the older paint scheme (including in many cases the old railroad name, Metro North COMMUTER Railroad) right until they were removed from service.
