The Trans-Canada Highway runs East-West, just a little to the East of this section. Though travelling by car does not provide you with similar perspective but you are guaranteed marvellous vistas and a chance to dip your toes in crystal clear, wonderfully sweet fresh water. If you have never travelled Northern Ontario, you should. There are few places in North America where you can be comfortable in your car or on the train and then stop and within metres of your footfall, find yourself in pristine forest with the only sound being the scurrying of creatures as they evade their greatest threat. You.
