A very Nice picture Dave.
That area of the bridge is a sore spot for me. I'll be glad when the guardrail rusts and the vines grow over the concrete!
Where were you when you took this shot? I have never tried to take any pictures from the West Bank. It looks as if you were on the water....

Thanks, Paul. I took this photo from Bair's Tackle Shop on the South
side of the bridge, of course. Do you know of accessible locations
on the east side of the river?

Hey Dave,
You can park just south bridge on Front Street and and walk down under the bridge. Depending on the water level, you might be able to go out to the next arch. Just south of there in a auto access drive that goes down to the river bank (again dependent on water level). I have driven down to the water there. There used to be another similar access about another half mile or so south. There are several breaks in the trees in that same area of front St. where you can get a pretty good view from the street. Depending on the vegetation conditions, you can probably park at the McDonald's, and walk down to the water.
Also of interest to me: I have gone up to Dauphin, and taken the street on the river side of the tracks down to a small creek bridge where there is a good view of the Dauphin "Statue of Liberty". She sits on what is left of a pier that once was an 1800's RR bridge across the river. A Predecessor of the Rockville Bridge. I think the first of the three Susquehanna bridges in that area. From there you can see the pier pattern going across the much of river.
Did you get the email I sent you, through this site, about 4 to 6 weeks ago?
