There is an idiot born every minute.

He or she was lucky this time and because they made it, they'll do it again and again until... It never ceases to amaze me how some people are willing to risk their lives so they don't have to (God forbid!) spend a few minutes waiting for a train to pass. Of course, we all know far too many people don't make it and exchange the rest of their lives for a short wait at a grade crossing. Anyway, this is a good photo of a SPIA (Stupid Person In Action).

Because it's the law!

Wow how stupid can this driver be
|
Here is your sign.

This may be the best (worst?) image yet of a "near miss," for two reasons: (1) the speed blur on the automobile really tells the story; and (2) the locomotive is already fouling the crossing. Wow.

Good call Jason, he should hold it out the window so engineers can see it ahead of time

Is that Whit in the car?

Brings to mind the movie "Forest Gump" and my favorite line; "Stupid is as Stupid does"!
Great reflexes, Geoff!!

This person looks like they crossed to the wrong side of the road to get past, risking a head on with any other stupid person trying the same thing in the opposite direction. A real close call.
|
Wow..... that is the closest I've seen (without being a hit.) That locomotive is already well onto the crossing. Lucky shot, possibly once in a lifetime, or should I say a hopefully once in a lifetime shot.
|
And.....there could have been another train coming on the second track. Brilliant!!
