This train has examples of all three current Metra push-pull car types, which are readily indentifiable by their window sizes. First behind the F40C is a Budd-built car with rifle-slot windows, second and third are Kawasaki-built cars with larger windows, identical to those that operate on California's CalTrain service out of San Francisco. The fourth car is a later Kawasaki, with huge windows, a variation that also runs on Virginia Railway Express out of Washington D.C. The latter vehicle has also been provided as electric M.U. cars for the South Shore commuter operation from Chicago to South Bend, IN. The last three cars represent an additional sample of each type.
