I can understand updating a locomotive, but EMD had the cab right the first time.

Great photo Anthony! I would hope that when NS updated the cabs, they installed A/C. I know the crews would appreciate that!

The new cab is needed because the batteries under the cab ate away the cab supports. The CSX 4000s and the NS rebuilds are supposed to be more employee friendly, more ergonomically correct. The CSX 4000s (SD40-2/3's) are hard on engineers over 6' tall. As one CSX hog put it: "They made these for Ewoks!" Juniata can only do better.
