Thanks for posting this image. I am really glad to see a shot like this obtain a Screener's Choice. Not only is it a fantastic scan of an historic image, it is perfect example of the classic, straightforward style of train photography that I grew up with and love.

If Ansel Adams had been a railfan, I doubt that he could have surpassed this image. Everything works here- lots of smoke, great light, and even the weathered engine gives us a good look at the machinery.
