Let's see, 2.3 mile long tunnel and human beings typically walk at 3 miles an hour. Find 2.3 divided by 3 equals 0.76; so, tunnel is 76% of how far a human can walk in an hour. Which means would take about 45 minutes to walk tunnel's length. I'm not sure that I want to spend that long walking underground.
