That's a great shot of some really classic railroading. The Scout is a great Santa Fe train name that kind of got lost in the dust of the Chiefs, the Grand Canyon and other runs.

My vote is for the Santa Fe for rostering these HUGE engines. Lost in the dusk of time is just how darn big these non-articulated machines were. And that they were all built by Baldwin, the number three builder design wise.

Bruce , this photogragh really grips me with excitement ! An action shot ,rods down ,but sharp enough to see the massive roller bearing rods , 80" drivers turning, as the semaphore begins to drop. One of my absolute favorite ATSF action shots !
