Mesmerizing. Again. Once more, we'll leave it to the audience to pick the winners. See you on the front page next week. Great shot, Eric!

Great photo, certainly POTW worthy. Great backdrop too. As Mitch said, see you on the other side next week

Beautiful shot Eric. I have stood in that spot many times but never got results like that. Great work.
|
Tremendous use of light and setting, truly outstanding.

It's been a long time since I've seen a photo that I actually believes deserves a POTW and I must say, this one deserves it!
|
Superb!!

The ever so rare double comment - one of the best photos I've seen in some time. Truly a step above the rest in a class it's own. My next comment, we'll be discussing extreme envy and maybe even jealousy.

Congratulations on this shot. This is a truly beautiful and mesmerizing photo that creates a mood that can't be fully put in words. What a great result!

I too have many photos from that vantage, but nothing with this kind of light. Great work!
|
Outstanding composition and lighting, nice work!

I think the secret of this shot is the disipline Eric posessed, to keep the train back in the composition. Thus the eye initially goes to the sun, and then every other line in the image, the clouds, the mountains, the trees, the water and the tracks, leads one to the train. And, in that magic moment with which he was blessed, light extends under the train, to define the running gear, and is also reflected onto the shade side of the vehicles to distinguish the consist and cab control F40. Eric, you might have to work a very long time to get a more exceptional photograph than this one! Congratulations.
