That's a Deltic, right? From what I've read over here in the States, they are interesting locos.

Oh yes..that is a Deltic. Superb locos.Only 22 were built to haul the East Coast crack expresses from London To Edinburgh at 100 mph. They were rated at 3300 but interestingly these powerful locos were only two stroke and the crankshafts were driven by a triangular arrangement of the pistons. The sound these locos made had to be heard to be believed.To see and hear one at full speed made the hairs on your neck rise.These locos were undoubtedly the most followed and photographed of all the many types of diesels that British Rail had following the Dieselization Programme started in 1955. They became so iconic that when the last one made its final revenue service into London's Kings Cross the event was covered on the National News. Because these locos had played such a major part in Britain's fleet of diesels their was tremendous interest in rescuing them from the cutters torch.As a result amazingly 6 out of the original fleet of 22 have been preserved..an achievement in its own right. These locos were undoubtedly the nearest to steam engines in terms of having character and presence.
