If nothing else, the VISIBILITY from that dome-like cab had to be FANTASTIC.

The logo used for RP.net for Screener's Choice, Photo of the Week, etc. is one of these K-M hoods. I always thought it was an odd choice, given the rarity of this model, but that's what it is. Check it out.

I grew up with Southern Pacific Railroad in Central California...nice to see pictures of the old
Bloody Noses, and nice to know they're not forgotten. Thanks.

When this second generation profile was designed, did SP send people to Germany, or did K-M send people to the US? I remember reading that one of the issues SP [and others] had was that the K-Ms couldn't m-u with domestic locos.
