I love your theory on night photography because it is absolutely true, but then, that same theory can also be used for daytime photography as well. This is a magnificant photo, the suspense, the anticipation, mixed with the serenity of the moment makes it almost spellbinding. The sad part is when the train finally arrives the spell will be broken never to be felt again. You get my PCA vote for this one

So we weren't the only railfans out on the Cutoff that night! This image makes me wonder why I chose the relaxing approach on this night spent camping by the Magnolia Bridge instead of trying out a night shot or two, definitely a photo that perfectly illustrates the mood and experience of watching trains after hours out on the Cutoff.
