Wow, what a unique piece of rail road equipment this is. Engine and car all in one. What kind of wheel arrangement would this be 1-0-1?

Thank you Brian for this wonderful picture! This were two (non driven) axle railcars (Bhm 1/2), driven by a pair of cogwheels below the transverse arranged boiler. A second pair of cogwheels was used exclusively for braking. The water was carried in a shallow container within the frame. There were 11 of this railcars built in 1886-1889, 1900 and 1909 and in service till electrification in 1937. # 9 is exhibited in the Swiss Museum of Transport in Lucerne, # 10 in the Deutsches Museum in Munich.

Look at the suspension: 2 paks of half elliptical flatsprings hanging on a spiral spring...I´ve never seen something like that!
