I dearly hope the bell was not going to be used with the crewman as picture.The bell can be seen directly beside the gentleman's left hip. This bell location is an oddity of the Nickel Plate Road !

Nickle Plate's only GP-35 was just scrapped a year or two ago. It was being used by Pan Am Railway's. Not everything can be saved. Or can it?

We have 2 of the 4 remaining NKP GP30s, #901 and #902, on the Cincinnati Railway. 901 was repainted into NKP colors in the fall of 2011. 902 was recently acquired, still in her Great Miami Railway #30 dress, but will eventually wear her NKP colors again too.
