Nice shot.I went here in May 2012, everything was fine. These green box cars are for native residents.

I am enjoying your pictures of this line. Overall it does not look much changed from when I visited some ten years ago, although I guess it hauls somewhat less coal and more passengers now. As your pictures show very nicely, the valley is quite pretty. Even in the winter the valley was green and the noon sun warm, a nice change from some of the other places where we chased steam in the cold.

Thank you John! Sadly, the line has changed dramatically since I took this shot in 2011. Now, the railroad resembles a theme park with blue coaches (with A/C), and green, and gold locomotives. The coal trains are all finished, which is a shame. When I visited over Chinese New Year 2015, the scenery was still incredible but the trains are very unappealing for photography and fruit trees have been densely planted along the whole line spoiling 90% of the photo angles. The only plus is that steam trains run hourly during the tourist season.
