Ohhhhhhh ! Shocking and lovely. What an interesting show of yard work. Thank you so much for being there to get this.

Fascinating story behind this little railroad...it's owned to serve an auto parts manufacturer a few miles over the Indiana line. Both this railroad and the manufacturer are owned by a Pakistani billionaire (who graduated from the University of Illinois in the next county west of Danville) who also owns the Jacksonville Jaguars football team. Not trying to tell him how to spend his money, but perhaps he ought to shell out just a few bucks to have this line mowed...then again, maybe by saving such expenditures he's able to keep other people working.

Gives a whole new perspective on "yard work". Neat!

@ Kurt Wayne.. The railroad has nothing to do with Flex-N-Gate (auto parts manufacturer) other than the fact that they lease land from them to store their equipment. This railroad hauls no auto parts in any way. The railroad is owned by IBCX, Indiana Box Car. As for the weeded up tracks, their main line is sprayed and kept clear of weeds, this photo just happened to be taken in an old siding that hadn't been used in quite some time. Thanks for the comment...

Whoops, thanks, Jesse B. My Dad and Grandpa were both born in Danville, and knowing the interesting railroad junction that town is I went to learn about this railroad. Shows how much I should trust WikiPedia. ">(

@ Kurt Wayne.. No problem. The Danville area has a lot to offer in terms of railroading as well as scenery. Much history to be found in the area. There are some very nice railroad painted murals on a couple of the local businesses, one of the old C&EI and another of the Illinois Terminal.
