They came from Fairless, Philly and Baltimore, most often in fleets owing to the arrival of a ship at one of the ports (most frequently Phila.). Such loaded movements were preceded by the influx of lengthy trains of empty jenny and/or standard hoppers. Back in the day when the mills were still thriving and numerous in the Pittsburgh area. Thanks for sharing this scene from a great location on the mountain.
