This would be a "pull-pull" operation, where the locomotives at the front, (in the direction the train is moving,) are pulling, while the units at the other end are in idle. To operate in a "push-pull" mode, all the cars would need to be equipped with multiple unit cables, to permit the units at each end to be operated in unison, under the control of the engineer at the controls of the point locomotive.
