Judging by that electrical box and blanked out head light, this is definately of SP heritage. Does anyone know it's original SP number(s)?

When you photographers are this close to the engine, look on the front of the frame, engineer's side,or left rear on the frame for a frame number. My friend has all EMD's frame numbers from the start.I do suspect that is the SP number when retired, but not when it was new.

Frame number 5436-16 blt Feb 1965 as SP 5641 The GP7 stencil is obviously not correct. I doubt it's been downrated to 1500hp. As a side not, the SW1 in the background is a former CB&Q unit.

correction, the blt date is 1956, not the typo 1965.
