Ah, the "G-String" paint job. Unimaginative and ugly. Metro North's replacement paint scheme is more attractive, though they had the gall to call the blue nose a "warbonnet" in their little "state of the railroad" pamphlets they leave on the seats of their trains every so often. I never did get around to writing them a note to explain that the term "warbonnet" refers to a very specific paint scheme. Note the knock-off blocks (painted yellow) designed to snap off misaligned third rail shoes before they do damage to the third rail (or its protective coverings), which begins to the south of this location.
