It's a pity that Bakken formation doesn't extend into this region of the state. When we took my Grandma to see her old home in Spearfish 35 years ago this line looked like it was just hanging on even then. I'm surprised but happy to see it still here. It's pretty much the only railroad that still traverses South Dakota, isn't it?

I don't see DDA40X 6925. Did you happen to see if it was still there? I know it's not in good shape by any means, but it is still a Big Jack/Centennial. I'd hate to see it get scrapped after surviving for this long.

Is the old UP Centennial still there?

That was my thought too! What happened to the UP Centennial?

Yes, the 6925 is still there on the on her side of that elevator. And unfortunately surrounded by all kinds of junk lol

Really cool view Kevin...Is that an Alco/MLW by the red building in the center of the photo? Was there any sign of the Ex Soo/WC GP30 that they supposedly bought for parts a few years ago? Last time I was out there(mid 90's or earlier) I think a couple of those SD's were their main power.

Chuck, that is the C420 (http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=442818&nseq=4). Their main power now is the SD7 #4427, some GP38AC that I did not see anywhere and an ex Santa Fe GP7 #1362 painted for Ozark-Valley in Mitchell.
