Humour a European - what's an 'anti climber'?

Jez, its an exstended piece of the underframe on the locomotive not easily seen here. It projects outwards above the coupler. Its intended to 'catch' the coupler of the adjacent vehicle in a train in the event of a collision to prevent said vehicle from climbing up and into the cab of the locomotive and so demolishing the cab. The anti climber maybe easier seen on something like an SD40-2 as its projected outwars above the coupler. The anti climber was retro fitted to thousands of earlier US power but is now standard from about 1995 onwards I think.

An anti-climber is a piece of equipment that prevents locomotives from riding up on top of one another in the event of a head on collision.
