Would expect that at least one of those locomotives was a total write-off. Noticed track has concrete ties.

Playing in Google found on army dot mil - and it is likely that various exchanges are ongoing - "Mongolian television network station TV9 interviews Col. Leana Fox, clinical operations chief 18th Medical Deployment Support Command as a Mongolian armed forces physician interprets during the first United States Army Pacific nursing subject matter expert exchange with the Mongolian army nurses corps in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia 12-16 April 2010. There are US military forces in the area, which explains the man in AF ABUs. Though I cannot recall why they're there.

Earlier this month the US participated in a joint multi-national training exercise with the Mongolian military and a half dozen or so other nations. The derailment may have been near the training area.
|
I noticed the same thing about the USAF ABU's. Evidence that the U.S. is everywhere.

All the services now look alike. When I "was there" at least you could tell which branch of the military that person was attached to and their rank.
