One of my happiest moments as a railfan was seeing the news of the rejection of the ATSF-SP merger, which I always felt was the wrong merger for the ATSF for the wrong reasons. I was doubly elated when I saw how fast they started repainting their diesels into ATSF blue and yellow and getting rid of this (gag me) paint scheme - I mean, SP's initials first?! What were they thinking?
