Superb shot, Samuel. Living here in west central Illinois, I could look for days, weeks, or months and never come up with a shot like this. Glad to see a photo like this showing a part of America I'll probably never ever see.

Love the atmosphere and sceneā¦great shot!

The orange contrasts great with the surrounding subdued colors. Very nice!
One of the most dramatic shots in the database. Congrats on POTW! Well deserved.
Great shot! I have to wear a parka just to look at this pic.
Beautiful photograph, as usual, Samuel ... Nice!
Love fog on the mountain top in the background. Also the old buildings are a nice piece of scenery. And of course the Interstate painted locomotive is the icing on the cake. Just plain awesome. Thanks.
I feel cold looking at this scene. Thanks.
Very atmospheric!
Great photo. Captures what is left of a small town.

Must agree with other members on this one .... Great Photo I just love the old Coca Cola sign painted on the side of the building, fading away! Just an idea but (if you have not done so) why not go back and record the sign before it's lost forever. Its the kind of thing I would have recorded. And have done so in the past. They used to be a great painted advertising sign on the end wall of a terrace of houses in Hull England. It was for a company called Trippets, the sign read something like "Trippets for Gloves" and it faced right onto the railway so everyone going out of and coming into Hull would see this sign. I also like the mist over the mountains something I would never get to see.
