Great timing! And an unusual move on the Metrolink, as westbounds usually cross over the Track One - but this one as already held on Track 2. Was this a deadhead move, passing all the way through the station without stopping, or did it use Track Three for its station stop?

As you stated, that Metrolink from Oceanside would normally cross over from #2 to #1 on that turnout in front of it in the picture, but as you can see the Chief was on #1 for it's nightly stop. I surmise the Metrolink was late since they have the trains timed to not have on two on main #1 at the station at any given time. The Chief generally has priority since they load bags on it and they normally prefer to do that on the station side, however, I have seen the Chief over on main #3. In the instance above, the Metrolink was diverted to main #3 where it stopped.

Interesting! I've been hanging around Fullerton for decades, and I'd never seen this move before. (Obviously, decades ago, this wouldn't have occurred because there was no Metrolink and the "Chief" went through Pasasdena...)

Looks like it's from the barstow power pool.
