Trains and towboats, nice. Wish our part of Missouri River had more towboat traffic to watch, we get somewhere around 5 a year, more if the sand place across river is working. UP runs along this bank of river, so we do get trains.

I find myself more interested in the strange looking boat on the river, good photo thanks for sharing.

When you figure that form follows function and there is a need to see over barges, the elevated wheelhouse is quite logical. Look up this page for more towboats, "Dick's Towboat Gallery

That's a great shot Lester, good timing. I am envious as I have never managed to get a train/boat combo on the Hudson, despite many attempts!
