Michael, is the track that you are standing on the same one that connects to the Conway Scenic?

I believe so but I'm not that familiar with the area.

For a place that has not seen a wheel turn in many years, the shed sure looks to have been very well maintained. The paint and roofing look very fresh.

Sad shot of a great place. Always thought the New England railroads fought a valiant battle against their changing circumstances.

This area is some of my favorite in railroad history, i was up a few years ago at the conway scenic and did a lot of poking around in this area, the scenery is gorgeous.

Cool subject!

At least the tracks are still in place, and maybe there is still hope. When I worked for Guilford out of Waterville, Maine, my supervisor was an old timer who had worked on the Mountain Division and lived in bunkhouse railcars in the middle of nowhere. Things sure have changed.

Where the term Highball came from. It's a shame that the other ball has been damaged or stolen. Nice picture.

A sad but great shot.

It's amazing that a signal system such as this is still in service. Very interesting and thanks for sharing!
