I believe it was Trains magazine back in the 70s had an amusing photo section with other glitches like this. The two I remember were a Union Pacific boxcar that said "The automated Rai Way", perfectly painted, as well as another N&W piece of rolling stock that read "Norfolk West And ern". How this stuff happens, I've always wondered.

From its appearance the panels are reversed if they are bolt on. Still love the oddball sensation of someone putting this through and it skipped quality control.

Panel placement made sense to someone. "So as I see it, as the train travels from left to right as someone is looking at it the panels will then appear in the correct order. First "Cotton" followed by "Belt". So I feel I did it right. Yes, I did graduate with honours in creative writing, Why do you ask?"
