Does the sign on the other side say "Yard Limit"?

Looks like construction going on the way the ground is turned up. Any idea what was going on?

Very eye catching image. You have SO found your muse on this line. And we all are the beneficiaries.

So if Trump is elected, will there be a wall across these tracks? ;-)

,b.piw1967 Yes, "Limite de Patio" means yard limit, however I have no idea why that sign is there, since there are no yards or sidings anywhere around this location. Sport! We are very curious about the construction as well since there are no immediate plans to open the line through the border. The work is recent (within the last 12 months) based on the lack of vegetation and erosion from rain runoff. I heard from the border patrol agents that the Mexican workers day lighted the next tunnel down which is Tunnel 3, but we could not see that from where we traveled. Dennis, I suppose you're right, I find this line is interesting because it is remote and most of these locations are difficult, or impossible to get by car (you need a high clearance preferably 4x4 vehicle for this one). I further enjoy that one must invest some time and effort (sweat equity) to get shots on the CRZY, rather than places like Cajon where you just pull up to a turn-out on the highway and shoot the choo choos from the car window. The gorge takes planning and the physical effort involved weeds out the chumps. Jim, I don't think much would change on this section of the border if the Donald was elected. The fence was beefed up in the 90's when Pete Wilson was a senator (see my Flickr page in the Carrizo Album) and the border patrol presence is patent. If fact, the BP had intercepted and arrested a group of border crossers just minutes before we arrived at the bridge across Campo Creek. We passed two or three trucks on the three mile drive along the fence to the creek. The border is a wild place and one's ability to come into contact with immigrants, coyotes, drug mules and their cartel employers is an ever present possibility. Definitely not a place to be at night.
