I knew they had to of run one of these recently since the sound of passing trains over the newly profiled rail in makes a distinct sound.

I know that unique sound you're talking about Frank. It has been times were I've heard that sound and knew that the steel wheels rolling over the rail made that sound only after a rail grinder had been through. So I would check and indeed the markings on the rail would indicate that to be so.
