Cool location!

Great location! But this type of cab car is definitely a candidate for the ugliest piece of railway material award...
|
A beautiful area with an ugly loco. Even the reflection is tough to look at. An otherwise wonderful photo to behold, Matt.
|
What a beautiful photo, but OMG that diesel.
|
Pretty scene; ugly train. Well captured Matt!

I agree with previous comments, great shot.
Steve Larson: :-)

Beautiful shot - shame you mistimed it and ended up getting the train in the shot!
|
The locomotive looks like a giant wheeled duck, right down to the green head.
|
Could you please go back when something more photogenic comes along? This is too beautiful a location to waste!
|
Not even spectacular scenery can make up for that "thing". Great location, though!

Saturated like Steel Wheels

I was gonna say, "great composition and light, etc.". Instead I credit you with opening up a most frank and humorous discussions on the aesthetics of Talgo train-sets. (Does anyone out there LIKE these? 'Just curious...)

Very funny, Mitch, I would invite you to a party too! :-)

Thank you for so many comments! If only I could dictate what equipment would be operated when I go out to shoot... I gave this spot a try two days in a row, and this was the second attempt. The first attempt gave me a Phase V (unmatched) NPCU leading, so at least this one's livery matches even if its lines are rather unsightly. Someone who lives in the area must surely have some shots from this extremely accessible vantage point, but I was rather surprised with the overall lack of passenger photos from the PNW. Other than Steve Carter and Andrew Kim's stuff, there's not much material on here from locals there.

Paint a cartoon mouth on it and Disney has a new movie to go along with "Cars" and "Planes".
That aside, great photograph...
