As Charlottesville is my hometown, I am pleased to see that you got a photo showing the old platforms. All that remains today are some shattered concrete foundations; and a new high-rise rental building now looms over the single platform. Thanks for sharing!

Bala/John: Thanks for your comments! Looks like there was also a pedestrian underpass in 1978, which I'm guessing was probably closed when they went to a single platform.
