Kind of odd that the new signal has its ladder on the side facing next to the tracks instead of on the side facing away from them. Safety third?

Or that the replacement signal is *exactly* the same as the current one, other than a yellow on the bottom signal will allow for an advance approach indication. I've seen a lot of CSX replacing new signals with the exact same thing. I smile when our sales reps talk about the billions spent on PTC and then see things like this in the field. As far as I know, replacing the signals themselves has nothing to do with PTC... just electronics upgrades in the signal box.
