I absolutely love all the photos you have posted of this old railroad line. I hope there are more to come.

Interesting history lesson. The trestle looks well built and I see a walkway below. And the standing water pipe - in case of fires?

Rusty Smith - “I hope there are more to come.” Yes, there are many more to come – assuming RP accepts them. [ ] Dale Roth – “in case of fires?” Yes, the tank on the hill across the bridge behind the hopper car, is a water reservoir that was filled with water brought into the Gorge by tank car and pumped up the hill. At the base of the hill near the left side of the hopper car is a set of valves located at ground level that were used to direct the water to different parts of the trestle in case of a fire. Additionally, there are two semaphore signals on both ends of the trestle that were used to signal if the bridge was out and during the heyday of the steam era, an attendant lived in the Gorge in a railroad coach parked on the fire spur (where the hopper car is sitting) which was part of the former main line leading to the collapsed Tunnel 15. The trestle was built due to the collapse of old Tunnel 15.

The more photos and information that you share on this highly unusual railroad, the more and more I think it would make a great model railroad....especially with fantastic structures like this (that would fit nicely into a corner of a layout).
