IF anyone out there is curious, "LOAM" is the reporting marks of the Louisiana Midland RR, a shortline that was purchased by Illinois Central then sold off, abandoned and scrapped out in 1985-86. I believe they purchased a number of Penn Central boxcars for leasing out during the "car-leasing boom" of the 70's.

Thank you, Rich Brown. I had just been chased from the garden into the house by the rain. I was mixing up John Innes no. 3 compost for my plant pots and it uses LOAM plus other ingredients so that car really caught my attention.
