I chased (didn't require much speed) and photographed an SENH train that was routed via Beacon, NY and a connection to the old Maybrook line. When did the routing change?

In 1982 the long trestle over the Housatonic River between Derby and Shelton, CT, was knocked off one of its piers by a flood, cutting Conrail's New Haven-Selkirk route via Danbury and Beacon. The bridge was not repaired until 1988 and in the meantime NHSE/SENH operated via Springfield as in my photo. Then in 1992 CR turned over much of the line to the Housatonic RR, and trains via Beacon ended for good.

Thanks. Guess I got the SENH just before the turnover to the Housatonic, probably 1990-1991.
