You are correct about how few passenger trains traverse this route. In October 2017, Amtrak is planning on running its annual Autumn Express foliage/rare mileage special along these very tracks (with a big assist from CSX). For the sake of both riders and photographers, let's hope the weather is as nice as it was the day this shot was taken.
