I recall that when this appeared, someone at Trains Magazine referred to the paint scheme as specifically resembling "the south end of a northbound zebra". Thankfully it didn't become the C&O's standard!

GP9 6141 also got this paint scheme. And agree with the comment that I'm glad this didn't catch on with the C&O. Great shot!
