INTRIGUING that the last car appears to be fluted stainless steel complete with "skirts." MIGHT this have been a Parlor Car or food-service / lounge of some sort. Having a parlor car on a Sunday pm train "back to the city" would seem reasonable (even in 1970). A good portion of this line is now a "rail-trail."

No, upper Harlem Division trains were coach only. I shot that 46 years ago so I really don't remember consist details, but PC used some ex-NYC stainless steel coaches in commuter service at that time and that was undoubtedly one of them.

Oh, well, it would have been a nice idea. That must have been a quite a scenic ride, even if the end-to-end average speed was pretty slow.
